When did modernization become synonymous with regulation? We all know how the federal government’s attempts to modernize financial services have led to increased regulatory burden for banks. Now the government intends to “modernize” farming and I fear the results of this latest assault on free enterprise will be the same as it has been in banking: Increased consolidation and fewer choices for consumers . . .
