Sioux Falls, S.D.-based American Bank & Trust donated $50,475 to local schools this year through its Spirit Card Program.
The donations bring the bank’s total raised to $261,367 in the last dozen years. Spirit Cards have reportedly been used to climb rock walls, travel expenses for FFA Convention and library furniture.
Donations were given this year to 14 schools:
- $8,689 to the Huron Tigers for team sport clinics, laptop storage carts, dry erase boards, headphones, books and furniture for storing student materials.
- $7,902 to the Miller Rustlers toward a large tarp, water bottle filling station, books and dry erase boards and materials.
- $6,212 to the Pierre Governors for a backstop for the softball diamond, math recovery course, egg incubator, cards sold by student-athletes and other supplies.
- $5,759 to the De Smet Bulldogs toward new furniture for breakout spaces in its new elementary school.
- $5,678 to Wessington Springs Spartans for elementary school lockers, percussion equipment for the marching band and golf bags.
- $3,836 to Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds toward exercise bikes for the wellness center.
- $2,487 to the Northwestern Wildcats toward furnishings for a new gym lobby.
- $2,485 to the Stanley County Buffalo for classroom materials.
- $2,427 to the Worthington Trojans toward equipment and scholarships for its Sports Booster Club.
- $1,000 to the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars toward a laminator for the elementary school.
- $1,000 to the Howard Tigers for new curriculum, books and workbooks for its preschool program.
- $1,000 to the Iroquois Chiefs for weight room improvements.
- $1,000 to the James Valley Christian Vikings for classroom technology in the elementary school.
- $1,000 to the Watertown Arrows toward general school materials.
