Bank Iowa announces new positions for three leaders

West Des Moines-based Bank Iowa announced new positions for three leaders in its corporate office.

The $2 billion bank hired Jessica Ferin as vice president, operations director; and Amber Weger as VP, treasury management. The bank promoted Jill Shedek to human relations director.

Both Ferin and Weger both have two decades of experience in banking, each having starting as bank tellers. Ferin, whose banking career started in 2005 as a retail banker in Johnston, Iowa, previously worked as first vice president of payments and digital operations at Moline, Ill.-based QCR Holdings. She graduated from the Iowa Bankers Leadership and the Ankeny Leadership institutes.

Weger transitioned to commercial banking from retail banking in 2011, having begun her career in treasury management as department administrator. “I’m excited about the opportunity to grow my career while working for a bank that is family-owned and community-focused,” she added.

Shedek had most recently served as the bank’s learning and development manager since 2017.
