Centier Bank donates $2K to community groups

Merrillville, Ind.-based Centier Bank donated $1,000 to the Unity Foundation and $1,000 to faith-based community health care group Center for Healing & Hope.

Unity Foundation is the local community foundation for La Porte County, Ind. The donation will go toward the Power for Good Fund, which helps the organization provide funding to qualified nonprofits, governmental bodies and teachers serving La Porte County. The donation was tripled from the Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow initiative, which has a $2 to $1 match.

“Centier Bank’s support allows us to continually address complex issues that impact quality of life in our communities here in La Porte County,” said Unity Foundation Development Officer Jamie Miller. “To date, the community grant program has granted $2.4 million to organizations throughout La Porte County.”

The Center for Healing & Hope donation will go toward the group’s first major capital drive, the Welcome Home Campaign, to purchase the medical building they are operating in in Goshen, Ind. The building includes nine examination rooms, a guest lobby, flexible workspaces and modern medical equipment.
