Centier Bank donates more than $60,000 to United Ways

Merrillville, Ind.-based Centier Bank recently presented a $60,113 gift to nine Indiana United Way agencies as part of its annual United Way Workplace Campaign.

The donation supports the United Way organizations in the 11 counties in which the $6.1 billion Centier serves, including Lake, Porter, La Porte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, Allen, Tippecanoe, Boone, Marion and Hamilton. Centier’s associate contributions and a corporate gift reportedly made this year’s total a record high. “Over 600,000 individuals throughout the state will benefit from the funds, helping serve more than 100 local United Way programs,” the bank stated. For the past several years, Centier Bank has partnered with United Way chapters in Indiana, resulting in initiatives being advanced to impact thousands of families and individuals.

Karen Tenbarge, senior director of development for United Way of Northwest Indiana, noted, “It takes great partners like Centier Bank for our community to thrive. We could not do what we do without their support. Together we’re helping Northwest Indiana residents find the resources they need to have better lives.”

Anthony Contrucci, Centier’s senior vice president of community relationships, noted that the bank’s employees “take great joy in making donations to United Way, because we know that the dollars will be spent to enrich lives across the state. Being an engaged corporate citizen is just one way in which Centier shows its commitment to our communities.”
