ChoiceOne board member retires, two appointed

Patrick Cronin retired from the boards of directors of Sparta, Mich.-based ChoiceOne Financial Services and ChoiceOne Bank on Sept. 21.

Cronin was appointed to the ChoiceOne Financial Services board three years ago in connection with the merger of Lapeer, Mich.-based County Bank Corp. into ChoiceOne. A local State Farm insurance agent for 48 years, Cronin served as director of County Bank Corp., parent company of Lakestone Bank & Trust, from 1993 until it merged into ChoiceOne in 2019.

Michelle Wendling, senior director of sales at PepsiCo, and local physician Curt Coulter were immediately appointed to the ChoiceOne Financial Services board following Cronin’s retirement. Wendling and Coulter, both former directors of Lakestone Bank & Trust and County Bank Corp., were appointed to the ChoiceOne Bank board in 2019.

“Pat’s insight and leadership will be missed,” said Kelly Potes, CEO of the $2.4 billion ChoiceOne. “Pat has served our organization as a board member for nearly 30 years. Pat’s passion for our employees and communities has done so much to make our bank successful. Michelle and Curt will be excellent additions to the board. They both bring unique perspectives as leaders in their communities and will help guide us to continued success in the future.”
