ChoiceOne Bank awards 13 scholarships

Sparta, Mich.-based ChoiceOne Bank awarded 13 $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors this year as part of its annual, needs-based program in west and southeast Michigan.

Applications were accepted during the first three months of this year. Students were required to plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college in Michigan this fall, and submit an essay describing one of their community service experiences. 

This year’s recipients included:

  • Sabrina DeYoung of Sparta High School
  • Victor Brownrigg of North Branch High School
  • Caleb Gort of Grant High School
  • Maxwell Hammond of Comstock Park High School
  • Cerenity Helzer of Capac Senior High School
  • Emily Hill and Logan Johns of Lapeer High School
  • Miniya Lothschutz of Coopersville High School
  • Jessica Lukins of Byron Center High School
  • James Oosterhouse of Holland Christian High School
  • Brooklyn Pratt and Victoria Wolfe of Armada High School
  • Sofia Sandoval of Fruitport High School
