Community State Bank donates $10,000 for nonprofits

Community State Bank recently donated more than $10,000 to 12 nonprofits in southeast Wisconsin for its #Gift2Giving campaign.

The employee-directed donation program is in its fourth year. Each CSB employee was presented with $100 to donate back into the communities of Racine, Kenosha and Walworth. This year, CSB allowed staff to make personal decisions, gifts the bank matched. “I love this campaign and everything it stands for,” said Community State Bank President and CEO Scott Huedepohl. “Our employees pour their hearts into these donations and it’s their way of saying ‘thank you’ to an organization that has impacted them personally or at a community level.”

Children’s Hospital-Kenosha campus and the therapeutic riding center for children and adults with special needs Willow Creek Ranch were two donation recipients. CSB CFO Peter Schumacher and Universal Banker Kacie Rose shared their accounts of how the hospital had helped their family members. “Children’s Hospital is a remarkable organization,” said Schumacher, who hand-delivered the donation with Rose, his grandchildren, and his son. “They helped my granddaughter with her early battle with hip dysplasia. It meant a lot to be able to hand deliver a donation with her and show our appreciation to the staff for all that they do.”

Sixteen CSB employees collaborated their #Gift2Giving funds for Willow Creek Ranch, in addition to making personal donations. The gift will allow Willow Creek to help more people in the surrounding community receive services that use horses, and bring more awareness of volunteer opportunities.

Another nonprofit that received assistance was the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Kenosha County. Twenty five CSB employees combined their #Gift2Giving funds and made personal donations for a grand total of $3,000. “As an employee of Community State Bank, I appreciate that we’re able to do #Gift2Giving each and every year,” said CSB Kenosha Market President Robert Pieroni. “The campaign is a gift to our staff and the organizations receiving the donations, and I think our journal entries that we share are proof of that.”

Other nonprofits that received donations include:

  • Seeds of Hope
  • Habitat for Humanity-Racine
  • Norway Lutheran Church
  • Cops N’ Kids Reading Center
  • Wisconsin Humane Society-Racine Campus
  • Burlington Catholic School
  • Special Olympics of Western Racine County
