Indiana-based First Bank of Berne donated $4,000 in recent weeks to four local nonprofits.
The donations include $1,500 to the Jayland Angel Tree Program; $1,000 to Truth Builders School Ministries of Jay County; $1,000 to the Monroe Fire Department for its Dec. 10 breakfast with Santa; and $500 to the Love Thy Neighbor Project.
The Jayland Angel Tree Program helps children who are unable to celebrate Christmas traditionally due to adverse circumstances. The donations will provide volunteers with the needed resources to shop, wrap and distribute gifs and food for families around the holidays.
A Christian organization, Love Thy Neighbor preserves and beautifys homes for those in need.
Truth Builders School Ministries of Jay County is a non-denominational Bible education program for public school students.
