First Farmers EVP/COO to retire

David Eikenberry, executive vice president and chief operations officer of First Farmers Bank & Trust in Converse, Ind., has announced plans for his retirement. He will remain full-time with the in his current role through June 2023, will fully retire in January 2024, and will begin delegating his duties over the next 12 to 18 months.

The $2.5 billion First Farmers will then split Eikenberry’s duties into two new roles: chief operations officer and chief administration officer.

Eikenberry “has been an intricate part of building First Farmers Bank & Trust, expanding into new territories, and contributing to [its] success,” the bank said in a press release.

He has 35 years and has more than 39 years of overall experience in the financial industry. Prior to his current role, he was an auditor, branch manager and loan officer.

He has an associate degree in banking and finance from the University of Indiana, Kokomo, and is a graduate of the Ag Banking School at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind.
