First Interstate promotes interim chief banking officer

Billings, Mont.-based First Interstate BancSystem appointed Lorrie Asker to executive vice president, chief banking officer.

Asker had been serving as interim CBO since February. A 30-year banker, Asker previously served as First Interstate’s Rocky Mountain regional president since 2019. She oversees retail and commercial banking operations across the $31.5 billion bank’s 14-state footprint. 

Asker graduated from and is a current faculty member of the Pacific Coast Banking School. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho, Moscow, and has an MBA from Williamsburg, Va.-based College of William and Mary. 

“Lorrie has a strong understanding of and passion for First Interstate’s community banking model,” said FIBK President and CEO Kevin Riley. “I am confident her breadth of banking experience will guide and support our client-facing teams in developing the strong and fruitful relationships for which First Interstate is known.”
