First National Bank and Trust announces CEO succession

First National Bank and Trust President and CEO David McCoy is retiring from the Beloit, Wis.-based bank.

McCoy is also stepping away from the board of directors of both First National Bank and Trust and holding company Centre1Bancorp. He will remain in a consultative position through March.

Chief Operating Officer Don O’Day will become president and CEO of the $1.5 billion bank and president of the holding company. O’Day, who has more than 35 years in banking, has worked with FNBT since 2017. He spent 14 years as chief credit officer and has served in executive positions at several Chicago area community banks, including six years as president of Elmhurst, Ill.-based Suburban Bank and Trust.

O’Day said the bank is well-served in both southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois by its group of bankers and the vision of Centre 1 Bancorp Chair Steve Eldred. “We are well-positioned for growth as the only truly local community bank in the stateline area,” O’Day said.
