Charles City, Iowa-based First Security Bank & Trust promoted Brad Miller to president and CEO and elected Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer as chair of the board of directors.
Miller, who was also expected to join the bank’s board of directors, had served as CFO since 2021. Miller, who has been in banking and financial services for more than 30 years, has a background in public accounting, institutional investment management and community-based financial institutions. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and an MBA from Washburn University, Topeka, Kan.
Herbrechtsmeyer served as First Security Bank president and CEO for nearly 20 years. “There’s plenty to do,” he added. “I will be working more on holding company business and shareholder relations, and I will also be available as Brad transitions into his role as CEO and President. I look forward to digging in and getting things done.”
