Merchants Bank promotes Harrison to chief credit officer

Winona, Minn.-based Merchants Bank promoted Cindy Harrison to senior vice president/chief credit officer.

Harrison

Harrison succeeds Mark McGrory, who retired in May following a 35-year career at the bank. Harrison will be a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team.

Harrison, who joined Merchants Bank in 1992, started in the Commercial Loan Department as a secretary/lending assistant. She was promoted to commercial banker three years later and spent 15 years directly working with business clients in that position. She became credit administration manager in 2010 and was promoted to director of credit administration in 2019.

Harrison received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Winona State University, and attended the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

“I am committed to continuing the strong credit culture (McGrory) cultivated at Merchants and feel fortunate to have this opportunity to follow in his footsteps,” Harrison said. “It’s rewarding to keep growing in my career as part of an organization that truly cares for the community, its customers and employees.”
