North Shore Bank raises nearly $9K for hunger relief nonprofits

Brookfield, Wis.-based North Shore Bank’s annual Bank on Kindness and Race for the Hungry raised a total of nearly $9,000 to support the local work of Wisconsin hunger relief nonprofits.

The public donated to local pantries of their choice from Feb. 7-20 through the Bank on Kindness website created by the more than $2.5 billion North Shore Bank. North Shore Bank matched $500 of donated funds for each of the participating pantries and helped sort through donated food items at pantries. The bank also held its annual Race for the Hungry in three markets.

A number of Wisconsin food pantries shared in contributions through Bank on Kindness, including:

  • Milwaukee Christian Center
  • Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee
  • Food Pantry of Waukesha County
  • Grace Welcome Center in Kenosha
  • Racine County Food Bank
  • Family Sharing of Ozaukee County
  • Sussex Outreach Services
  • Paul’s Pantry
  • St. Joseph’s Food Program, Inc.

“We are so thankful to our community members for their generosity in supporting these local food pantries,” said Susan Doyle, senior VP of retail banking. “We are thrilled that together we were once again able to raise incredible funds in such a short amount of time. We look forward to announcing other Bank on Kindness nonprofit partners later this year so we can continue to assist those in our communities who need support.”
