North Shore Bank participating in ‘Bank on Kindness’ initiative

Brookfield, Wis.-based North Shore Bank is again partnering with Children’s Wisconsin on the community give-back program “Bank on Kindness” this year.

The $2.5 billion bank is accepting donations to provide books for patients cared for at Children’s Milwaukee and Fox Valley hospitals, as well as its school-based mental health programs, through Nov. 22 on North Shore’s community-focused website. North Shore Bank is matching all donations of up to $5,000.

The donations are expected to provide books to three Children’s programs throughout Wisconsin, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Children’s Milwaukee and Fox Valley hospitals, allowing patients’ families to read aloud to their children while promoting bonding, brain development and reducing stress.

“The funds will also support patients through Children’s Child Life and Creative Arts therapies as well as school-based mental and behavioral health programs,” the bank stated. “The initiative will help provide developmentally appropriate books for kids and families dealing with stress and anxiety — whether in a hospital or school setting.”

North Shore Bank has raised more than $48,000 for organizations across the state to date.
