North Shore Bank raises more than $1,760 in food for pantries

Brookfield, Wis.-based North Shore Bank raised more than $1,760 in food this year during its 13th annual Race for the Hungry event for local food pantries.

The races took place Feb. 17 in three locations: At Menasha Piggly Wiggly, where $569.52 of food was raised to be donated to St. Joseph’s Food Program; at Kenosha Festival Foods, where $542.73 in food was collected for Grace Welcome Center; and $652.31 in food at the El Rey Food Mart in Brookfield to be given to the Milwaukee Christian Center.

The races took place in a unique way: Representatives from the food pantries raced through the supermarket aisles to fill the wish lists. Winners received a $100 gift card, while runner-ups received a $50 card.

North Shore Bank was founded in 1923 and today has more than $2.5 billion in assets and 45 offices in eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
