Ohio Valley Banc Corp. promotes Miller II to CEO

Gallipolis, Ohio-based Ohio Valley Banc Corp. promoted Larry Miller II to CEO of both the $1.2 billion Ohio Valley Bank and the holding company.

Thomas Wiseman, who previously served as CEO, will remain as chair. The company promoted Ryan Jones to chief operating officer of both the bank and the holding company. Jones will continue to hold the risk officer title for both as well.  

Wiseman said both promotions were part of the company’s previously approved succession plan. 

Miller II was promoted from COO. He began his career at the bank in 1986 as a teller. Since then, he’s been an internal auditor, treasurer and secretary. Miller II has also held several officer and senior management positions. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Cedarville University, Ohio, and graduated from the Ohio School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jones began his banking career in 1999 with Milton Banking Co., Wellston, Ohio. He worked in the proof processing/computer department and was later named compliance officer and board secretary. Jones, named to the board in 2012, became senior vice president four years later after Milton Banking Co. merged with Ohio Valley Bank. He received a business management degree from the University of Rio Grande, Ohio, and graduated from the Ohio Bankers League Leadership Institute. He has also attended several banking-based leadership and training schools.
