Old National Bank expands to Detroit metro

Evansville, Ind.-based Old National Bank recently marked the opening of its first metro Detroit-area commercial banking office with a launch event at the Detroit Athletic Center.

The Detroit team is headquartered in Troy, Mich. The area is home to more than 1,500 companies with $50 million to $500 million in revenue, 10 of which are Fortune 500 companies.

Old National’s other Michigan markets are in Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.

“The team is tremendous and the response from the community has been fantastic,” said Metro Detroit Market President Rick Hampson. “We’re here, and we’re here to stay. Our plan is to build something really great.”

The expansion continues Old National Bank’s recent growth. In June 2021, Old National Bank acquired Chicago-based First Midwest Bank for $6.5 billion. Last year, the $47.5 billion bank expanded west by opening a commercial banking office in the Kansas City region.
