One Community Bank awards scholarships to local seniors

Oregon, Wis.-based One Community Bank awarded three $1,000 scholarships this year.

Applicants needed to be in good academic standing and plan to attend either a two- or four-year institution; technical or trade school; or apprenticeship program. Applicants were also required to pen an essay on community service and involvement. 

The scholarship program was launched in April 2021. This year’s application launched in March and was available to graduating high school seniors. The bank received 58 applications.

“Supporting the continued academic growth of young adults who have a dedication to community is a commitment we hold dear at One Community Bank. We are inspired by this year’s recipients,” said President and CEO Steve Peotter.  

This year’s scholarship recipients, all from Wisconsin, included:

  • Lily Breyer, who graduated from Sun Prairie West High School and plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to study data science and business. 
  • GeorgiaRae Samuelson of Waunakee, who graduated from Waunakee High School and will continue her education at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. 
  • Maddelyn Webster of Waterloo, who graduated from Waterloo High School and will attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this fall as a nursing major.
