Pathward Financial hires CFO

Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Pathward Financial appointed Greg Sigrist CFO.

Sigrist’s hiring is effective Nov. 1. He will succeed Glen Herrick, who will help with the transition and other projects until he retires Dec. 31.

Sigrist, who has more than 20 years of banking experience, previously served as EVP and CFO of New York City-based Metropolitan Commercial Bank. He spent 12 years with Morgan Stanley as a managing director in senior financial rules, including CFO of Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A., from 2014-2018.

A CPA, Sigrist has a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University.

Pathward CEO Greg Pharr credited Herrick for helping to grow net income to $156 million last year from $13 million in 2013. Herrick helped lead Pathward Financial through its rebranding from MetaBank this spring after Meta Platforms, formerly Facebook, acquired the exclusive rights to the name “Meta” from the bank in a $60 million deal.

“He also helped lead the company on an extraordinary evolution from a community bank to a diversified, entrepreneurial driven bank that included five acquisitions, the disposition of the community bank and the rebranding,” Pharr added.
