Photographer encourages bankers to reach for new heights

Dewitt Jones

Dewitt Jones, a former National Geographic photographer and film-maker, closed the ABA’s National Conference for Community Banking on Feb. 28 with an inspirational presentation that urged bankers to pursue their personal and professional visions. He outlined a four-step process:

  1. Develop your technique;
  2. Put yourself in a place of greatest potential;
  3. Be open to possibilities, and
  4. Focus your vision by celebrating what’s right with the situation.

“Most of us are on the edge of success and significance,” he told the bankers gathered in Honolulu. “Significance is not about being the best in the world, but the best for the world.”

Next year’s NCCB is Feb. 10-13 in San Diego.
