TS Bank employee marks 30 years, donates $1,000 to charities

Treynor, Iowa-based TS Bank marked Credit Administration Specialist Martha Schuler’s 30 years of service by giving her $1,000, which she donated to two charities of her choice.

The allocation is part of standard TS Bank policy. In addition to an individual tenure gift, TS Bank employees who serve more than 30 years with the bank receive $1,000 to donate to at least one charity of their choice.

Schuler is donating a portion of the money to the Treynor Food Pantry at Zion Congregational Church. “I have had the opportunity over many years, along with the help of Girl Scout troops, fellow employees, and family to donate, especially at Christmas time to help families in need,” she said. “I hope this donation will help bring comfort and joy during the holiday season.”

She’s also donating to Positive Spin, a new nonprofit helping veterans overcome their obstacles through cycling and educational outreach. The organization was started by Schuler’s daughter and her fiance, Heath Barcus, a Marine who experienced post-traumatic stress disorder and found that exercise therapy augmented traditional therapy. “It is such a blessing to be able to give to others,” Martha stated.

Schuler’s career with the bank began in 1992. She has since held many roles and responsibilities, including in loan operations, core analysis and credit administration.“Family is very important to me, as well as for TS Bank. Mick and Judy Guttau have been especially an inspiration to me. The bank has been like a second family, and we have gone through a lot together. I appreciate all they do for their employees and communities they serve.”
