SHAZAM names new chair

Kevin Swalley

Kevin Swalley was elected chair of the SHAZAM, Inc., board of directors. Swalley is chairman and CEO of GNB Bank, Grundy Center, Iowa, and also serves as president, CEO and chairman of GNB Bancorporation.

Swalley has worked in community banking for 34 years and most recently served as vice-chair for the organization.

“SHAZAM allows individual community financial institutions to magnify their voice and influence in the payments industry,” said Swalley. “I’m proud to serve in a leadership role for one of the only member-owned financial services providers in the United States.”

In addition to his current role, Swalley has served as board member for the Iowa Bankers Association, Iowa Bankers Insurance and Services, Inc., and Community Bankers of Iowa. He also served on the Independent Community Bankers of America Payments & Technology Committee as well as the Taxation Committee. He was a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston Imaged Returns Workgroup and served on the Federal Home Loan Bank Des Moines board of directors. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, and is a certified public accountant. He resides in Grundy Center.
