St. Cloud, Minn.-based Stearns Bank is matching $100,000 for every dollar donated to three area food shelves this year through a partnership with the Central Minnesota Community Foundation.
The challenge began Nov. 20, and donations must be received by Dec. 31. Contributions are being sent to St. Cloud-based nonprofits Catholic Charities and St. Cloud Salvation Army and St. Joseph Community Food Shelf.
Since 1985, Central Minnesota Community Foundation has grown to $143.5 million in assets and provided $155.3 million in grants to nonprofits.
“With economic uncertainty and the rising price of groceries, there is no better time to support our area food shelves,” said Stearns Bank Chief Marketing Officer Rory Bidinger. “Central Minnesota is our home and Stearns Bank is honored to once again work with our community to help those who may not know where they will find their next meal.”
