St. Paul, Minn.-based Sunrise Banks added four members to its board last year to advance its mission of social responsibility, including Paula Martin, Jennifer Docherty, Karen Garrett and Kirat Sekhon.
Martin, who chairs the board’s operations and human resources committee, recently served as adviser to the CEO at Vancouver, British Columbia-based credit union Vancity. Docherty, a senior financial and legal advisor, is managing director and associate general counsel at Piper Sandler, Minneapolis. She joined the board in June 2022 and chairs the finance and audit committee.
Garrett, a retired payments attorney who sits on the board of advisors of Madison, Wis.-based TCB Enterprises and is a board director of both the Heartland Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors and New Covenant Trust Co., Jeffersonville, Ind. She chairs the board’s revenue committee.
Sekhon, head of product engineering at Thomson Reuters, Toronto, joined the board in September. Sekhon chairs the board’s technology committee.
