The Middlefield Banking Co. announces CCO promotion, hires CBO

Ohio-based The Middlefield Banking Co. promoted Rebecca Noblit to chief credit officer and hired Michael Cheravitch as chief banking officer. 

Noblit succeeds Alfred Thompson Jr., who will retire from the $1.79 billion company on Feb. 1. Noblit joined Middlefield as part of its December 2022 acquisition of Liberty National Bank, most recently serving as senior vice president in credit administration. She had served as CCO of Liberty National Bank from 2017-22. 

Noblit has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from The Ohio State University, Columbus, and an MBA from Ohio Dominican University, Columbus. A banker with 35 years of experience, Cheravitch joined Middlefield from Pittsburgh-based F.N.B. Corp., where he spent four years as SVP. He has Bachelor of Business Administration and MBA degrees from Cleveland State University.
