UBB names two directors

Curt Johnson

Brian Nicklason, chair of United Bankers’ Bancorporation, Bloomington, Minn., announced Curt Johnson and Mike Johnson have joined the boards of UBB and its holding company, United Bankers’ Bancorporation, Inc.

Curt Johnson has served as president and CEO of Cherokee Bank, Cherokee, Iowa, since January 2016. He has spent more than 22 years in Iowa’s banking industry, including experience as senior vice president at City State Bank in Norwalk, Iowa, and 19 years in various positions including chief risk officer and president at Bank Midwest, Spirit Lake, Iowa. 

His dedication to the banking industry involves board and committee positions with Iowa Bankers Mortgage Corp and the Iowa Bankers Association’s finance and management committees. In his community, he sits on the boards of the Western Iowa Technical Community College, Cherokee Country Club and Cherokee Area Economic Development Corp. He is also active with Cherokee County Promise and Cherokee Rotary.

Curt Johnson has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, and is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, Boulder.

Mike Johnson

Mike Johnson has more than 25 years of professional experience in security risk management. He is director of graduate studies for the Master of Science in Security Technologies degree program at the University of Minnesota Technological Leadership Institute. In this role, he develops, teaches and administers graduate level courses in security technologies innovation, management and leadership. He also participates in the development and delivery of customized short courses and professional development programs in response to industry needs. 

Before joining TLI, Mike Johnson served as chief information security officer and operations risk director at Bremer Bank, St. Paul, Minn. and as an examiner with the FDIC. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., and a Master of Science degree in security technologies from the University of Minnesota.
