Peshtigo, Wis.-based VanWinkle Family Chiropractic recently received a $25,000 grant through their partnership with The Stephenson National Bank & Trust on behalf of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago.
The money was allocated through FHLBank Chicago’s Community First Accelerate Grants for Small Business. The grant is expected to allow VanWinkle Family Chiropractic to add services and equipment.
The grants support the purchase or improvement of technology, workforce development, equipment and property. FHLBank Chicago member banks, credit unions, community development financial institutions and insurance companies submitted grant applications on behalf of eligible small businesses with which they had at least a year of a business relationship.
FHLBank Chicago awarded $4.3 million in grants to 172 businesses throughout Illinois and Wisconsin, which more than quadrupled their investment in Accelerate Grants year over year.
“Small businesses in our members’ communities provide valuable products and services that contribute to local economies,” said Katie Naftzger, FHLBank Chicago Community Investment Officer. “Accelerate Grants provide an opportunity for our members to strengthen their partnerships with local small businesses, thereby supporting economic growth and job opportunities and strengthening the fabric of the rural, urban, and small town communities served by our members.”
