Waukesha State Bank partners with FHLB Chicago to deliver $25K grant

Wisconsin-based Waukesha State Bank recently announced its partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago to award a $25,000 Community First Accelerate grant to Waukesha small business Karen for Hair LLC.

Karen for Hair is expected to use the grant to install an Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible ramp and invest in parking lot resurfacing to better help clients with disabilities. According to Waukesha State Bank, small businesses are facing hurdles in growing their operations due to rising borrowing costs.

FHLB Chicago awarded Accelerate Grants for a second year to support the purchasing or improvement of property, workforce development, equipment and technology. Member banks, credit unions, community development financial institutions and insurance companies submitted grants on behalf of eligible small businesses.

“Small businesses are vital members of our community and provide valuable products and services that contribute to our local economy,” said Waukesha State Bank President & CEO Ty Taylor. “It was an honor partnering with the FHLB Chicago to provide this opportunity for Karen For Hair.”
