Wisconsin DFI secretary to leave for administrative role

Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions Secretary Kathy Blumenfeld will leave the agency to lead the Wisconsin Department of Administration on Jan. 17. 

 Current DFI Deputy Secretary Cheryll Olson-Collins will be appointed to the agency’s top post once Blumenfeld departs.

Rose Oswald Poels, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Bankers Association, said the WBA “extends our appreciation to Sec. Blumenfeld for her public service and management of DFI and congratulates her on her appointment.” 

“Our association and members are grateful to Kathy for her collaboration and engagement with the banking industry, and for her steady leadership during the economic uncertainty created by the COVID-19 pandemic,” she said. “We wish her the best in her new role.”

Poels also spoke highly of Olson-Collins. “Cheryll has a breadth of experience and has served Wisconsin’s financial institutions well throughout her time at DFI,” she said. “We look forward to working with Cheryll in this new, and well-deserved, leadership role.”
