Bank First closing branch

Manitowoc, Wis.-based Bank First is planning to close its branch in Weyauwega, Wis., in January.

The decision was prompted by “a careful review of bank operations and branch network,” the bank said. Accounts will be shifted to the bank’s newly remodeled branch in Waupaca, Wis. Employees from the branch will also be retained.

“This year has presented unique challenges and opportunities due to COVID-19,” stated Molepske. “While it is not the reason we are closing our Weyauwega branch, it has created a broader awareness of how our customers utilize the digital banking tools we have available. We remain dedicated to our customers and the relationships we have built in the Weyauwega community and look forward to continuing to serve them from our nearby Waupaca location.”

The $2.7 billion Bank First will have 24 branches in Wisconsin after the closure, expected January 29.
