Banking’s Bill Winter passes away

Bank marketing expert William “Bill” Winter has died. He was 80 years old, passing away on March 2, 2021. Winter, who lived in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, was an occasional contributing writer to BankBeat and its predecessor, NorthWestern Financial Review magazine. 

Bill worked at RSM McGladrey before launching his own marketing practice, focused on serving the community banking industry. He was an expert at helping financial institutions select the best location for a new branch or office. He urged bankers to work collaboratively with consultants and experts to help them be successful. He participated in Bank Holding Company Association events as a site-selection expert.
