Eric Faulkner has been named president for Citizens National Bank, Bluffton, Ohio.

Michael Romey, former president, will remain chairman of the board and CEO of the bank. He has held the role of president/CEO since 1986 and has been with the bank since 1978.

Faulkner began his banking career at CNB in 2009 in Columbus, heading up the loan participation program. Previously, he was a senior sales manager for Alliance Data and a director of business development at The Monitor Group.

He has a Bachelor of Science in marketing and an MBA from Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, W.Va. He is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Faulkner is a member of the Community Bankers Association of Ohio’s legislative and regulatory committee and has lobbied for the bank through the Ohio Bankers League.

“The transition of the responsibility for the leadership of the bank has happened gradually over the past year,” Romey said. “I’m confident as I hand the reins over to Eric that the day to day operations of the bank will continue to run smoothly and I look forward to seeing the advancements the bank makes under his leadership.”

The $858 million Citizens National has nine branches in western Ohio.
