Bowman: Bank capital hike unwarranted, detrimental

Higher bank capital requirements could reduce bank lending while benefitting nonbanks, said Federal Reserve Gov. Michelle Bowman in a June 25 speech. To Bowman, regulators should instead evaluate liquidity requirements and supervisory programs.
